FAQ About Staff Partnerships:
What is a staff partnership?
A staff partnership is a relationship between you and our staff where you are an integral part of their ministry as you stay connected with them, receive direct and current updates on their ministry, and partner with them in prayer. Your financial contributions are directed into the tangible work that staff are doing in the community and enable Youth Unlimited to care financially for that staff position.
Who sets the salary?
The Board of Directors of Youth Unlimited set the salary level of each missionary staff member.
What if there is a shortfall?
Staff only receive their full salary if adequate funds come in designated to their staffing position. A shortfall would mean only a partial salary.
What if there is a surplus?
Staff are encouraged to maintain an account surplus equivalent to at least one month’s salary. This provides staff with enough time to write to their ministry partners should Youth Unlimited experience a shortfall in donations during a given month. Any surplus remains designated in its entirety to the staff position, but monthly remuneration never exceeds the predetermined salary level set by the Board. If staff have potential back pay due to a previous shortfall, they are entitled to receive it if their staff position account reaches a surplus position.
Will my donation be designated to a particular staffing position?
Our policy is that we credit the amount of the entire gift to the staffing position.
Are there any exceptions?
In the event that a staff member leaves the ministry of Youth Unlimited with a surplus in the staffing position account, the surplus is transferred to a staff subsidy account to be used to assist staff experiencing hardship as the result of a shortfall.
Other Ways You Can Help:
Gifts In Kind
We have many tangible needs for in-kind gifts (contribution of goods and services) such as computer hardware and software, books, sports equipment, clothing, food, prizes and art. Please contact our office if you have an interest in helping us with these needs. We can be reached at 514-420-0446.
We appreciate all who consider Montreal Youth Unlimited for grant funding. Our work has an emphasis on how one’s personal faith is a significant source of hope and coping. Our programs and services are wholistic, relational, culturally sensitive, educationally age-appropriate and caring long-term. Our multifaceted approach utilizes “client-centered,” “family-systems,” “community development,” and “crime prevention through social development” forms of intervention. We engage each community through a process of community assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, consultation & networking of key stakeholders. This approach emphasizes cultural diversity through “Anti-discrimination, Access & Equity” practices, strategic city-wide alliances and partnerships and the optimization of local community expertise, human and material resources.
Consider putting us in your will. Contact our Executive Director, Allan Heron, for more information at 514-420-0446.
Stocks and securities can be donated. Our preference is to use www.linkcharity.ca in order to transfer the funds to us as they can handle multiple charitable designations and have a low fee of only $25. CanadaHelps also offers this service for a higher fee.
Many corporations and businesses allow for employees to take a certain number of hours off each year to volunteer in their communities. Come volunteer with us and support youth and families all over Quebec who are in need! Please contact us through our volunteer page if you have an interest in volunteering with us.
