FAQ

Can I avoid paying online?

We highly recommend that parents pay online through our website. This is the easiest way for Youth Unlimited to manage payments and for us to collect the information needed for Releve 24. However, if this is not possible, we will gladly accommodate you. Payments can be made in person at the center, or sent to Terra Nova at our mailing address. PLEASE NOTE that all payments must be made by the time camp starts on Monday mornings when your child is dropped off. We cannot sign in campers at the beginning of the week if payments have not been made. Thank you for understanding! Please contact Jason Brereton if you need a specific accommodation for payments.

Is this a religious camp?

Terra Nova Christian Day Camp is a part of a Christian youth organization called Montreal Youth Unlimited (MYU). MYU’s work amongst teenagers and children through after-school programs, drop-in centers and camps is motivated by a Christian ethos and biblical values. As Christians, we believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, and this drives us to create programs which help young people reach their full potential and know that they are loved. The staff at our camp is Christian and is committed to this mission.

At camp, we will be holding “BLAST” every day for 30 minutes to an hour. BLAST is the time of the day where we gather our entire camp for songs, dance and discussing Christian values (love, joy, peace) and stories acted out by counselors (a favorite!). If you have any questions or concerns about our BLAST sessions, we will gladly send you our curriculum at the beginning of every camp week this Summer and please don’t
hesitate to speak with Jason Brereton..

Our camp is open to people of all creeds and faiths: it is not designed for individuals who have previous knowledge of Christianity. While we espouse Christian values, we desire for families of all backgrounds to feel comfortable at Terra Nova.

Who will be watching my kid?

Counselors at Terra Nova Christian Day Camp are dynamic, professional, bilingual individuals with previous camp experience. They long for your children to have a safe and entertaining Summer. We will be sending out more detailed introductions in coming weeks, but please note that our camp staff undergoes background checks, interviews and extensive training before beginning their work with campers. Counselors receive extensive team building, child protection and First Aid training before camp begins. Your kids are in good hands!

Can I drop off or pick up my child off any time during camp hours (9 am - 4:30 pm)?

Other than if you have opted for our day care services before and after day camp hours, we would ask parents to please drop off their children at our center at 9:00 am and pick them up at our center at 4:30 pm. We have activities planned between these hours and would love to get started as soon as our day of camp officially begins! If swimming lessons or long commutes (etc.) prevent this from being possible, please let us know beforehand. Thank you!
